Groene Gordel Brugge

Bruges, the World Heritage city, is bathed in green. The Bruges Green Belt (Groene Gordel) offers an eclectic mix of forests, castle estates, open landscapes with fields and meadows, perpendicular canals and picturesque villages. The Vlaamse Landmaatschappij (Flemish Land Agency) teamed up with various partners in 2009 in order to create a cycling route that linked up the most beautiful landmarks in a safe and attractive manner. Since then, much has been invested in laying down new cycle paths, rest areas and in arranging nature and lands capes. Additional cycling routes will be built over the coming years. Picnic areas, play areas and natural sites make the Bruges Green Belt an absolute winner.
