Do you long, just like us, to put on your skates for a long glide over the ice? Or do you just want to do your best to stay upright on a strip of natural ice in the middle of the rich nature around Damme? We have our fingers crossed, but wait for the official green light. As soon as we see the temperature drop we keep you informed where and when you can skate. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, then you are sure that you are the first to know.
With some luck we have the largest ice rink in the country
We undoubtedly all dream of the circumstances in which we can once again tie up our skates for a trip on the Damme Canal. Unfortunately, that opportunity is no longer so common. In addition to this dream, Visit Damme has also drawn up a plan to also enable ice skating on natural ice on the Damme ramparts. In collaboration with Natuurpunt Damme, a part of the city walls will be flooded during a long period of frost, allowing ice skating to be made faster.
In all cases we ask for strict monitoring of the communication of the city councils involved (Bruges, Damme and Sluis) during a long period of frost.
